Behold, I Stand at the Door and Knock
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Revelations 3:19-22 KJV
Jesus is waiting for us to open our hearts to him and his teachings. When I was a child, my Sunday school teacher explained that just as your friends will ring your doorbell when they visit, and you can choose whether or not to let them in; you can also choose whether or not to live for God. Jesus never forced anyone to obey him. He never forced anyone to do anything that they didn’t want to do. You have a choice, just as people in the bible had a choice. They either chose to believe Jesus and listen to him or they chose to ignore him, and their lives remained unchanged.
